FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What kind of books do you publish?

We specialise in books about Africa and African experiences both on the continent and across the global diaspora. Our literary focus includes fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, poetry, essays, cultural studies, history, contemporary African thought, and stories that explore African identity, heritage, migration, and global influence.

We support both traditionally published authors and independent digital publishers within our ecosystem.

How do I submit my manuscript?

Manuscript submissions are accepted annually between May and June during our official submission window. Outside of this period, unsolicited submissions are generally closed unless exceptional circumstances apply. Any extensions or special submission calls will be communicated through our official channels.

Authors submitting during the open period can use the submission form on our Submission page and include all required materials such as the manuscript, synopsis, author biography, and contact information.

Do you accept unsolicited submissions?

No. We do not accept unsolicited submissions outside our annual submission period between May and June, except in extenuating circumstances that will be formally announced by our editorial team.

How long does the review process take?

The review process typically takes between 6–12 weeks depending on submission volume, editorial scheduling, and project requirements. Selected authors will be contacted directly regarding next steps.

Do you publish internationally?

Yes. We are an international digital-first publishing company serving readers and authors globally. Our platform supports African literature and storytelling for audiences both within Africa and across the diaspora worldwide.

Will I retain rights to my work?

Rights and publishing terms depend on the publishing agreement selected. Authors publishing directly with us under our traditional publishing model will have rights, licensing, and royalty terms clearly outlined within their contracts.

Independent authors and micro-publishers using our publishing platform retain ownership and control of their content according to platform publishing terms.

Do you publish ebooks and print books?

Yes. We are a digital-first publishing platform with our own integrated reading app, allowing readers to purchase and read ebooks directly within our ecosystem.

For paperback and hardback editions, we currently provide links to external retail and print distribution platforms including Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and Barnes & Noble Press. This allows readers easier access to print formats that may not yet be directly available through our store.

We are also developing our own paperback and hardback infrastructure while continuing to work with established global print distribution partners.

Do you support self-published authors and micro publishers?

Readers can purchase and access ebooks directly through our reading app, designed to provide a seamless digital reading experience while supporting African authors, independent publishers, and global readers.

Do you offer editing and publishing services?

Editorial, design, formatting, and publishing support services are primarily offered to authors publishing directly with us under our traditional publishing model.

Independent authors and micro publishers using the platform publishing system are responsible for preparing and managing their own publishing materials unless otherwise agreed separately.

Do you provide marketing support?

Marketing and promotional support is generally reserved for authors publishing directly with us through our traditional publishing division.

Authors and micro publishers independently publishing through the platform are responsible for managing and promoting their own titles unless additional partnership arrangements are established.

Do you offer audiobook publishing?

We are currently developing our own audiobook platform as part of our expanding digital publishing ecosystem. More information regarding audiobook publishing and distribution will be announced soon.

is the Anthology Prize still open?

Ebooks are distributed directly through our reading app and digital ecosystem. Print editions may also be accessible through external retail and print-on-demand services such as Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and Barnes & Noble Press depending on format availability and regional access.

How are books distributed?
